Originally from the Chicagoland area, Dr. Britt Ihrig has lived on the west coast since she was 18. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Ihrig spent her first post-baccalaureate years working as a marine biologist, then more than a decade as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. She eventually realized that wanted to meld her passions for science and service with her love of animals and pursued her DVM degree here in Oregon. She graduated from OSU Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2021 and has been with WVAH of Gladstone ever since. She plans one more career change before she is done, and will apply as an usher at Wrigley Field in Chicago when she is an octogenarian.

Dr. Ihrig loves traveling with her husband Mark as well as catching live music concerts regularly. Closer to home, she is an avid roller skater and can often be found at Oaks Park rink if not enjoying a match at Providence Park with her beloved Portland Thorns. Currently parenting two senior kitties, Dr. Ihrig looks forward to treating all of your pets with the same affection and attention she gives to her own
