Dr. Protain received her Bachelor degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Northern Colorado in 2004 and her Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University in 2008. While in veterinary school, she completed a Morris Animal Foundation study researching a new diagnostic test for adrenal disease in ferrets.
She has a special interest in exotic mammals, particularly ferrets, and soft tissue surgery.
In her free time, Dr. Protain enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 sons and menagerie of animals: 2 horses, 2 ponies, 2 Chihuahuas, African grey parrot, cat, and ferret.
